Robert's Story
My Journey"
After eighth grade at Gettysburg Elementary and freshman year at Fairview, I transferred to Patterson Cooperative High School and studied distributive education. During my junior and senior years, I worked in a number of roles at a pharmacy in downtown Dayton. That experience was extremely valuable as I was able to obtain a position at Grandview Hospital as a radiology orderly. After several years, I transferred to respiratory therapy and eventually was certified as a respiratory therapist working in the pulmonary lab. In 1977, I started nursing school at Wright State and then moved to Columbus, OH in 1980.

Licensed as an independent insurance agent, 2022.
In 2008 and 2018, I served as a volunteer, working with Romanian orphans as well as underserved families. Since 2009, I either rode or volunteered in the annual Pelotonia Bike rides sponsored by the James Cancer Center.
Over the years, I served as an emergency department nurse as well as serving as a home health nurse, supervisor, and director in several agencies. In 2007, I decided that my greatest satisfaction was found in providing direct patient care and eventually became a clinic nurse IV at the James Cancer Center at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. While there, I served the needs of head and neck surgical oncology and otolaryngology patients. It was an awesome 50 years of working to improve the health status of those entrusted to my care. In 2019, I decided to retire and relocate to Dallas, Texas.
